According to the EPA, Americans generate 1.6 million tons of household hazardous waste (HHW) every year. Amy Cabaniss is an environmental educator whose work since 1990 has emphasized household hazardous waste and other solid waste issues. She is a Board Member of the North American Hazardous Materials Management Association (NAHMMA), Environmental Coordinator for Connecticut College, and a Doctoral Candidate in Environmental Studies at Antioch University - New England.
