Danai Krokou was born in Corfu, a Greek island in the Ionian Sea. She left her hometown at age 17 to study and work in numerous countries around the world. She is an international business development consultant, Chinese market investment specialist and passionate polyglot. She studied in France, the United Kingdom, Spain, Denmark, Greece, and China. She majored in French language and literature, international politics, and business. She is fluent is seven languages including Mandarin Chinese. She started her first business at age 25 in Shanghai, China and is one of the youngest female entrepreneurs in Asia.
