He has a multidisciplinary background in architecture and city and regional planning. He has integrated academic and research pursuits with intense professional and administrative experience locally and internationally. Dr. Benna has over 45 years of teaching experience in universities in Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Germany and USA. His research interests include urbanization issues in developing countries, urban activity systems, the role of large-scale projects on cities and regions, and the impact of new technologies on cities and regions. His professional activities – with Benna Associates – include architecture and urban design as well as the planning of new university campuses, master planning of many cities in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia. Urban administration experience came in the form of membership of the board of directors of the development authorities of Nigerian cities, Federal Housing Authority and similar agencies. Dr. Benna is principal partner in Benna Associates, Nigeria.
