Norwegian healer and clairvoyant Are Thoresen invites us to accompany him on his further travels on the Northern path of initiation. Having previously traversed the realms of the elemental world, he now takes us to the astral regions and Devachan, where we meet a series of extraordinary entities, culminating in a dialogue with the Antichrist and an exploration of the sublime spheres of the Time Spirit, Michael. Thoresen contrasts Vidar's path - 'through the mysteries of the spirit' - with 'the mysteries of the earth', and discusses the differences between the Vidar and Michael paths. Guided by Scythianus, he is introduced to Ymir, the Spirit of the Earth - a being who has been in existence before earthly time began. Ymir reveals the earth's twelve layers, where the cosmic entity Anna is to be found. Known in history as the grandmother of Jesus, Anna represents the feminine aspect of the path into devachanic realms. Through her portal, Thoresen enters the higher spiritual worlds, where he receives teaching on the true mission of the human being. Meeting Michael brings to culmination the trilogy that began with Travels on the Northern Path of Initiation (2021) and Encounters with Vidar (2022).

ARE THORESEN was born in Norway in 1952. A Doctor of veterinary medicine, he has also studied anthroposophic medicine, homeopathy, acupuncture, osteopathy and agriculture. Since 1981 he has run a private holistic practice in Sandefjord, Norway, for the healing of people, horses and small animals. He has lectured widely, specializing in veterinary acupuncture, and has published dozens of scholarly articles. In recent years, his work has focused mainly on spiritual medicine - based primarily on a deeper understanding of anthroposophy and the medical teachings of Rudolf Steiner - and investigating the spiritual world. This has resulted in seven books: Demons and Healing (2018), Experiences from the Threshold (2019), Spiritual Translocation and The Lucifer Deception (both 2020), Transforming Demons (2021), Travels on the Northern Path of Initiation (2021) and Encounters with Vidar (2022).

Meeting Scythianus

On my first day of new experiences, I simply observed the movements of the inhabitants of the spiritual world. One of the first things I noticed was that all the Angels bowed slightly. None of them stood totally straight, but seemed subject to a higher force – almost as if they were in a process of constant praise to God. This bowing also allowed the possibility of ‘looking down’, towards the lower hierarchies of spiritual beings, and finally to human beings. The higher ‘up’ I was able to see, the more the Angels stood or moved vertically, as if the ‘lower’ groups of Angels were directed more towards the groups further downward, and eventually the human being.

The next morning, this gradient of rank appeared clearer than on the first day. It even seemed that there was some kind of leader within each group, so that the leader of the highest group, of the Seraphim, was the leader of all the Angels.

The clouds of the physical world still appeared in different pastel colours – to a certain degree like the pastel clouds of the outer etheric world, which is definitely not material. When I was able to go deeper into the colours of the clouds, they seemed to form a cup or a concave form. With that, the second day ended.

Towards the end of the third day, the ‘leader’ of the hierarchies came much closer, standing in front of me with a stern expression. I tried to ask his name, but I didn’t really catch what he said. However, I was able to decipher that it started with an S. Over the following days, he came closer and closer, still stern in his gaze. At a certain point, he was so close that I merged with him, and he became part of my physical body. I felt him both outside and inside of me.

Then he started to smile and told me his name, almost as if it had been a secret up till now.

In fact, he gave me three names: Serat, Saturn and Scythianus. He indicated that, somehow, he was all three of them.

I don’t know who or what Serat is. Of course, Saturn is a planet, and in anthroposophy the name of a period of ‘planetary evolution’. And, Scythianus I knew to be an important initiate. I needed to find out more about who Scythianus was. In a book by Sergei Prokofieff∗ I discovered that Scythianus was one of the greatest initiates ever, connected to the mysteries of the physical body, to Saturn, to the upbuilding of the Resurrection body (the Phantom), to Manu and to Christ. This all started to make some kind of sense and I began to become excited about a deeper encounter with Scythianus himself. But over the following days, the entity did not utter any words nor give me any indication of what I am supposed to hear or ‘see’. He remained close to me, however, and had a slight smile on his face.

The spiritual world is strange. When I met Vidar, he appeared like a man of around 2.5 metres in height, and Balder at his side was about 1.7 metres. When meeting this new entity – the one that called himself by a name beginning with S – he appeared to be very tall. I could not tell his height for sure, as I could only see his face – but in relation to S’s head, his body must have been at least 4-5 metres tall. His head filled my whole view, my whole vision, and I couldn’t really see anything else.

This had been going on for several days now. S’s visage grew kinder every day. Initially, he was stern and serious, but became humorous and kind – almost with a kind of cheeky jokiness. On Saturday, thirteen days after his first appearance, the being indicated that he had a lot to do with the destiny of the Slavic peoples, and was also closely concerned, or even connected with, the Russo–Ukrainian war that was then raging. I waited with patience, feeling very calm.

The following day, Sunday morning, sitting opposite my fireplace, the next step was taken. Being somewhat frustrated by the silence of S, I went back to the threshold to ask Vidar if I had done something wrong. Was everything as it was supposed to be? He answered immediately, as he can do when a question is simple yet important. The answer was that S was of a different spiritual ‘stream’ than he was. Vidar indicated further that there are several spiritual streams in the cosmos, and that he himself belongs to one that was somewhat ‘conscious’, or even ‘intellectual’. This stream included the being that was Rudolf Steiner and Aristotle.

This new entity, S, belonged to another stream – a stream that could be characterized by the Master Jesus, Abel or Plato. This stream was much more connected to the feelings of the heart than to words. S did not intend to give me any lessons in words or concepts, but only a floating, loving insight into the world and the cosmos. This love would enlighten me further.

Vidar’s teachings were to prepare me for the spiritual world beyond, and to give me contemporary concepts and truths that I could communicate in my books. Now, however, the new teachings were to be on another level, the level of the sixth cultural epoch of Love and Warmth. When Vidar said that, I thanked him and went back to S. His friendly gaze became even warmer and friendlier, overflowing with love and understanding. Then, something remarkable happened.

Every morning I drink 1-3 cups of hot water, as instructed by Peter Deunov. He said that this enlivens the cells of the body. Now, I happened to observe a cup of hot water. In it, millions of small elemental water-beings appeared, and when I took a sip, they entered my body and its cells, enlivening them all. A little later, as the water cooled down, the elemental beings became bigger, and these entities entered my organs and bones. This was very interesting, and I resolved to continue to observe the world whilst remaining in close connection with S.

The following morning, S gave me one further indication of his mission and way of working. He suggested that whilst Vidar functioned as a transition between the elemental world and the spiritual world, he – S – functions as a mediator, or transition, between consciousness and the deeper layers of the earth, as well as the deeper layers of the body itself. It was as if Vidar was pointing upwards and S was pointing downwards. This was like the ‘two streams of reality’, the Platonic and the Aristotelian, and I was now able to gaze into the deeper layers of the earth itself.

I had been able to do this once before, but only for a short while. This happened on the top of the Atlas Mountains, on the first day of January 2017. Early that morning, I could see through the whole earth, and experienced that the planet had twelve layers – not just nine, which, up until then, I had believed to be the case. At that time, my view felt more like a revelation. Now, it felt more like an insight or understanding. And all the time, S was smiling in a friendly manner.

The next day, the teachings of S became stranger still. He showed me, or rather let me experience, another timeline that was previously unknown to me. Earlier, I described a timeline that is known if one enters the etheric of this world (the ‘inner’ etheric, not the outer etheric).∗ Through these means, if one moves to the left, one enters the past, and if one moves to the right, one enters the future. Both the past (in the etheric Akasha) and the future (in the spiritual astral) are actually present in the now, but one has to move oneself, or rather one’s consciousness, in the spiritual realms or landscape. This reveals the fabric of the double timeline or the double time-stream. This timeline exists in the horizontal plane.

S showed me the vertical timeline, a timeline that exists through or in the twelve layers of the earth itself, as well as the twelve layers of the body. When going with consciousness into the depths of the earth, one moves back in time, until one reaches the ninth layer – as if the first nine layers were created in the past. But then, when entering the tenth layer, the travel through time suddenly changes, or reverses. One starts to enter future time, which is, in a way, like the future in the horizontal realm.

In the tenth layer, one meets angelic time – the same as astral time – which can be understood as the remaining part of the fifth great time cycle and the Jupiter incarnation of the earth. This relates also to the power of the Son.

In the eleventh layer, one meets archangelic time – the same as lower devachanic time – which also can be called the sixth great time cycle and the Venus incarnation of the earth. This relates to the power of the Mother.

In the twelfth layer, one meets archaic time – the same as upper devachanic time, which also can be called the seventh time cycle and the Vulcan incarnation of the earth. This relates also to the power of the Father.

In going with our consciousness into or through the twelve layers of the body itself, something similar happens. Through the first eight layers we move back in time, but at the ninth layer it reverses. When entering this ninth layer, we reach the ‘Turning of Time’. Physically, we enter the right atrium (of the heart).

Then, at the tenth layer, we enter the right ventricle, corresponding to angelic time and also the astral world, as well as the rest of the fifth time cycle and the Jupiter incarnation of the earth. This also relates to the power of the Son.
