Point Source Nitrogen Pollution: Climate Mitigation and Sustainable Solutions for the Modern Era explores the sources, impacts, and challenges related to point source nitrogen pollution. It provides an overview of challenges and opportunities for nutrient management to contribute solutions to nitrogen pollution and how nitrogen pollution can contribute to climate change. This book emphasizes point sources of nitrogen pollution by exploring potential solutions to nitrogen pollution that originate from identifiable and specific sources such as water streams and soil pollution. It will cover topics such as digital agriculture technology, optical sensor-based nitrogen management, and nature-based solutions.

Dr. Tonni Agustiono Kurniawan’s degrees include a B.Sc. in chemistry from the Bogor Agricultural University (Indonesia), a M.Sc. in environmental technology from the Thammasat University (Thailand), and a Ph.D. in applied chemical technology from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (China). He is the author of over 130 peer-reviewed publications in ISI-rated journals, 26 conference proceedings, including 9 book chapters and 6 monographs on waste to energy and wastewater treatment. He received the 2010 Green Talent Award from German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the 2013 Young Scientist Award from the World Economy Forum (WEF) (Switzerland), and the 2014 Scope-Zhongyu (France) for his outstanding research contribution to the fields of study. Elsevier and Stanford University (US) listed him among the top 2% of highly cited scientists in the field of Environmental Sciences. Dr. Abdelkader Anouzla received his Ph.D. in Science & Technology at Hassan II University -Faculty of Science and Technology Mohammedia, specializing in water treatment. Dr. Abdelkader ANOUZLA has published almost 85 peer-reviewed articles and Nine books. As well as being a guest speaker at several conferences, he has also published numerous proceedings. He has experience in water and wastewater, solid waste management, environmental chemistry, pollutants in soil, study and characterization of waste, recycling, and reuse of waste to produce new materials, and air pollution. Anouzla conducts research in the areas of water and waste treatment, wastewater treatment plant operation, leachate discharge treatment, solid waste sorting, technical landfill management, and composting of solid waste and sludge from wastewater treatment plants, the Algae as a Natural Solution for Water-Food-Energy nexus and Microplastic pollution in the environment, digitalization in the water sector, Saving water in business and irrigation, nitrogen pollution.
