Dr. M.H. Mehta is President of The Science Ashram and Chairman of Gujarat Life Sciences. He was Vice Chancellor of Gujarat Agricultural University and before that the Executive Director - GSFC Ltd., Senior Scientist - Bhabha Atomic Research Centre and visiting Scientist - University of California and Arizona. He was founder Director of GSFC Science Foundation and GGRC (Gujarat Green Revolution Co.). He holds B.Tech and Ph.D in Chemical Engineering from I.I.T., Bombay. Dr. Mehta has been awarded Padmashri by Govt. of India. He has been honoured by Indian Science Congress. He was given Agriculture Leadership Award (2012), Life Time Achievement Awards by Asia Pacific Desalination & Water Reuse Association and Indian Membrane Society and earlier the most outstanding Young Chemical Engineer Award by I.I.Ch.E. in 1986. He has been honoured/invited at several International Institutes/Universities such as Cornell University and University of Arizona (USA), Royal Institute (Stockholm) and recently at Beijing University. His 20:20 model for Eco Agriculture is increasingly regarded as the practical and apt model for the coming Eco Agri Revolution and water management. He also leads Vaho Vishwamitri Abhiyan - a model holistic plan for the revival of river. Dr. Mehta has published more than 200 papers, holds 16 patents and has written 4 books. His last book - Science, Spirituality and the World Tomorrow - was released by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam in 2013. A keen sportsman, his other interests are poetry and music and he plays the instrument Kastha Tarang.
