HEALING THROUGH LOVE by Ulrich Rathgeber is a book about healing, love and spirituality. It consists of three parts: In an easily understandable and sensitive way, the author first describes spiritual basics in the first part. He makes the principle understandable how spiritual energy can have a healing effect on people and animals, shares his experience of divine love with us, explains the structure of our subtle energy bodies and talks about different sources of power of spiritual healing. The second part deals with the different aspects of healing, the author also examines the connections with karma, time, nature, silence and words. In doing so, he gives valuable practical advice on how to attain healing in everyday life. In the third part of the book he presents his newly developed energetic healing system ANAHATA HEALING. Similar to Reiki, there are three levels of initiation, each of which teaches a specific healing method. In each degree you get access to a certain healing energy, which you can then transfer to people and animals. To illustrate the effectiveness of his healing methods, the author also describes for each of them some touching as well as amazing case studies from his many years of practice as a professional healer. A highly spiritual and with great expertise written book that should read everyone who is interested in spirituality, love and spiritual healing!

What is healing?

Healing is a process that allows something that has become ill to become healthy again. This is easy to observe in a wound: Every day it heals a little bit more, until finally at best there is nothing left of it at all. Many different processes take place in the body to bring about healing, all of which are aimed at achieving the desired state.

In order to be able to set all these complex processes in motion in such a targeted manner, the body must obviously be clear about how the result it wants to achieve should be. The body-consciousness therefore knows its optimal state of health and tries to restore it again and again in case of disturbances.12 This optimal state can be understood as a harmonious inner order of its system, and if it is disturbed by anything, the incipient healing works on its restoration. Thus the body is in a permanent process of self-healing throughout its life.

If one understands healing as the reharmonization of a system, the term can be applied to other areas as well. Not only physical wounds or diseased organs can heal, but all systems that have their own order structure and have been brought out of balance by some circumstance: Emotions, relationships, families, communities, landscapes and even our planet in its entirety are examples of this.13

Since systems vary greatly in their structure and complexity, so do the healing processes that take place within them, for example, healing of a little dog requires different processes than healing of the rainforest. Healing can therefore take place in the most diverse areas and take on the most varied forms. Nevertheless, each of these forms is just as important and just as valuable as the others. There are no “big” and “small” healings, because everything is connected and beyond the illusion of separateness literally one and the same.

As I have already described, I have experienced this divine One, which we all are in reality, as pure love. The power of this all-encompassing divine love not only keeps all its expressions constantly alive, but also brings about in them constant healing processes in the respectively required manner. In other words:

Healing is an expression of divine love!

This is also the reason why an Anahata Healer can heal others the more, the more his heart awakens and the more he is in contact with the all-encompassing divine love: Love not only heals everything, as they say, but is actually the power of healing itself!

Healing is only necessary because the divine love cannot be perceived unclouded by all its living expressions. If this were the case, we would all consciously be in Oneness, and consequently there would be no more disharmonies to be healed on any level!14 So healing is also the recovery of the perception of the omnipresent love in a place where it could not or no longer be perceived before due to a disturbance.

Being one with everything, with the one divine love, is our true nature. Even if everything else would be healed – as long as we are in the illusion of being separate, this is still a perceptual disturbance that needs healing. And healing it would be the greatest healing of all: the dissolution of our illusion of separateness,15 hence our awakening into oneness.

The development of diseases

With regard to the development of diseases, one can either only consider the formal level or choose a holistic perspective, which then also includes the spiritual causes for the development of a disease.

Our western medicine sees only the formal level. It has determined that certain viruses or bacteria are present in certain diseases and concludes that the diseases arise because they are present there. Although this conclusion is an unproven belief, Western medicine has developed good treatment options through its specialization on the formal level. As Dr. Klinghardt has suggested in his recommendable book Lehrbuch der Psychokinesiologie,16 the most elegant way of treatment should always be chosen, i.e. the one that leads to the desired result with as little effort as possible. For example, a bleeding injury is much easier to treat with a plaster than by sending healing energy into the wound, so the plaster is the more elegant and therefore better choice here. For functional purposes, allopathic western medicine is very helpful. If, on the other hand, you want to heal the underlying causes below the level of form, you should use healing methods that are based on a holistic view. This sees a level deeper than conventional medicine and recognizes connections that go beyond the material form level. It does not question the presence of certain viruses or bacteria in a certain disease, but does not see them as its cause, but only as its functional trigger.17

From a holistic point of view, the actual cause of a disease of the physical body lies in the subtle area. If we have a problem with a certain area of life, but cannot or do not want to see it, we need a mirror, and our physical body takes over this function. The relevant subtle matter manifests itself in it at a certain place so that it becomes visible to us through it and we can integrate it into our consciousness again.

Thus, diseases are neither accidental strokes of fate nor divine punishments, but rather supportive clues to help us develop inwardly. They arise as a reflection on our consciousness; therefore we cannot fall ill without having the corresponding affinity for this illness within us.18 Without illness we could not overcome our blind spots and our spiritual development would stagnate. Thus, both diseases and their healing are always new steps for us on our way to our wholeness.

Technically speaking, the disharmony affects our etheric body and causes a disturbance in the flow of life force, so that now, for example, a certain meridian is undersupplied. As a result, this energetic undersupply in the physical body causes a reduction in the blood flow of the organ connected to the meridian, which in the long run leads to its illness.

The process of healing

When the healing process restores the balance at the level of the disturbance cause, a chain reaction takes place, which also brings all other levels affected by the disturbance into balance and thus heals. What we can observe as healing on the physical plane is therefore only the final result of a long series of healing reactions that have begun in the subtle realm. This is also the reason why we can only perceive the effect of a healing treatment on a physical body after a while: The healing begins immediately, but it takes a little time for the effect to reach the visible physical plane.

When a healing energy is transferred to someone during an energetic healing treatment, the more precise and powerful the energy reaches exactly the place of the cause of the disorder, the stronger the healing effect.

This principle can be well perceived in therapeutic sessions when the energy of the words reaches exactly the right spot in the client and a “thick knot is loosened”: the energy bound there is released, a sudden insight is triggered, followed by a strong emotional reaction, a harmonization of the previously blocked energy flow and finally the physical reaction. In this case, the healing first took place in the mental body (mental insight), then reached the astral body (resulting feelings) and the etheric body (energetic harmonization), until it finally reached the physical body as well.

The permanence of healing

If a treatment does not reach the level of the actual cause, but only the level of the physical body, it can restore the balance there as well and thus bring about a healing reaction. But since the cause then still exists, it will manifest the same symptom again after a short time. For a permanent healing, the treatment should be directed to the cause of the disease.

Of course, a healed person can also create a new cause, which then leads to renewed disturbances, for example, a renewed emotional imbalance. If the new cause is in the same place where the previous one was, a short time later the same symptom will reappear in the same place on the physical plane. The affected person may then believe that the healing was not successful because the old symptom seems to have returned. However, this is a misapprehension, because the symptom of a healed cause cannot come back, precisely because its cause no longer exists! Nevertheless, a new disturbance in the same subtle area can occur, which then causes a new symptom of the same kind at the same place in the physical body. 19

Healing and Karma

Karma is the divine principle of cause and effect, and it causes any energy we send out through our actions to come back to us. Sometimes this happens immediately, sometimes some time later, and sometimes even in a later life, but in any case we reap exactly what we have sown. Karma provides a just balance by letting us experience exactly what someone has experienced through us before.

For example, if someone kills a person, a karmic debt arises, which he or she must pay at some point. Possibly, he will meet his victim again in the next life and will then be killed by him in turn. On the soul level, both have learned how it is to kill as well as how it is to be killed. Thus the open karmic account between the two is balanced again.

It is not a punishment that the consequences of our actions return to us, but a kind of mirror of the universe that helps us to learn something from our actions. For example, if you strike a surface of water with your flat hand, the water will not splash in your face as a...
