These 12 essays reanimate the dialogue between interdisciplinary scholars and practicing artists that originally gave birth to visual culture as a field of study.  A new translation of Nancy’s essay, 'The Image: Mimesis and Methexis', reveals how Nancy’s work informs, challenges and inspires our encounters with visual culture.

Carrie Giunta is Lecturer in Philosophy at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London. She has published recently in Radical Philosophy, Film-Philosophy, the Directory of World Cinema and the Historical Journal of Film, Radio and Television. Adrienne Janus is Lecturer in English and Literature in a World Context at the University of Aberdeen. She has recently published in Comparative Literature and The Senses and Society.
