Das Sprüche-Buch neu übersetzt und verständlich erklärt.
Magne Sæbø has written a critical commentary on the Old Testament Book of Proverbs based on the original text. He has translated the original Hebrew text and interprets it in an easily understandable manner. By putting the Book of Proverbs in its natural setting within Old Oriental Wisdom literature, Magne Sæbø also reveals its context in the Old Testament. Using the final version of the text, the author reveals the traditional and historical path the text took over time. He also points out the various forms employed and the teachings of the wisemen of the day. A further focus lies on the particular theology found in the individual proverbs.

Dr. theol. Magne Sæbø ist em. Professor für Altes Testament an der Gemeindefakultät in Oslo und ehemaliger Präsident der International Organization for the Study of the Old Testament (1995–1998).
This new critical commentary on the Book of Proverbs is popular in the way it is written and scholarly by its referring to the Hebrew original text and to the modern study of it. More than other recent commentaries it focuses on the final text of the book and on the traditio-historical way of the material to the final form of the text.
