How you open a training session is vital - it may not make or break a course (though sometimes it comes close!) but it can certainly save much time and energy later. Choosing a beginning exercise that starts the course well can improve the way the group responds to your other learning activities and to the training as a whole. The 40 'Beginnings' exercises in this collection are designed to help you create a rapport with and amongst the group; to raise the energy level and start the learning process; to set the tone of participation and enjoyment. Closing exercises are equally necessary to round off an event, before moving on. The 30 'Endings' exercises in this manual are a fun way of enabling the group to 'formally' say goodbye. The exercises can be used to help participants focus on what they have gained from the course; to provide evaluation on the course; or to offer feedback for both participants and trainer.
