What does it mean to prioritize all stakeholders not just shareholders, but also employees, suppliers, communities, and the natural environment and how can organizations navigate the complexities of doing so authentically? This guide summarizes decades on stakeholder capitalism into 50 questions and answers that clarify its principles and practices, its implementation challenges, and the psychological, political, and organizational dynamics that shape its success. Structured around ten thematic sections, the book provides insights drawn from management, finance, psychology, and marketing. Discussing topics such as corporate purpose, greenwashing, climate risk, and ethical leadership, it is an accessibly-written resource for executives and management researchers.
Pavlos Vlachos is a Professor of Marketing at Alba Graduate Business School (Athens, Greece), where he is also the Theodore Papalexopoulos Chair in Sustainability. He serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Business Research, and his work has appeared in Organizational Behavior & Human Decision Processes, Journal of Management Studies, and Human Resource Management, among others.
