Dr Charles has a PhD in Economics (2017), an MSc in Economics (2009), and a BSc in Economics (2006) from the University of the West Indies, St Augustin Campus, Trinidad and Tobago. He has 22 years of work experience covering economic research, consulting, lecturing, project management, procurement, industrial relations, event management and procurement. He has worked in United Nations (UN) organizations, the public service, academia, and consulting. By 2024, he had published over 60 peer reviewed publications. His research interests are in the areas of energy economics, econometrics, international trade and value chains, climate change policy and environmental economics, and portfolio finance. Dr Charles has an IBM Data Science Professional Charter. The charter comprises of 10 courses.Dr Charles has also completed training in "Climate Change and Sustainable Investing Specialization" from the EDHEC Business School. He also has training in non-economics areas, namely Web Design from the University of Michigan, USA.
