Cláudia Ribeiro de Almeida holds a PhD and a Pos Doctoral Degree in Tourism by University of Aveiro. Master in Total Quality Management by Universidad Politécnica de Catalunya and a BSc in Marketing by the University of the Algarve. She She is a Coordinator at the School of Management, Hospitality and Tourism of the University of the Algarve, where she lectures since 1996 on Tourism Operations, Transports and Accessibilities in Tourism and the Dynamics of the Tourism System. She has been the Tourism Course Director and a Member of the Coordination of the Master in Tourism since 2017. Areas of research and special interest include Air transport & Tourism dynamics, Tourism and sustainability; Second home tourism; Short-Term Rentals; Tourism operations; Tourism trends; and Artificial Intelligence for Tourism. Cláudia Almeida has published in the fields of air transport, tourism, second-home tourism and social media, she has authored a book and co-authored several others, book chapters, journal articles and conference papers. She is a reviewer of several scientific journals. At the level of applied research, she has participated in several national and internationally funded projects (Best Med, Interreg Med; Creainnovation; TOURMedAssets; COST TU1305; Acess4All; HC Tourism; Share Economy and others). Also, she is a reviewer of several international and national journals. Ana Isabel Renda holds a PhD in Tourism from the Faculty of Economics/University of the Algarve. She has a first degree in Social Communication from the Technical University of Lisbon (ISCSP), a postgraduate degree in Business Marketing from the University of the Algarve and a postgraduate degree in Tendencias Actuales de la Administración Empresarial from the University of Huelva. She has been a lecturer at the University of the Algarve since 1992 in the social sciences, tourism, marketing, and human resources areas. She has been the Tourism Master Director since 2015 and has Coordinated the Master and post-graduation areas since 2022. Areas of research and special interest include Tourism sustainability, Impact perceptions, Tourism development, Quality of life in tourist destinations, Rural tourism, Short-Term Rentals, and Tourism trends. Ana Isabel Renda has published in the fields of tourism and quality of life, sustainability, and tourism development; she has co-authored two books and chapters, journal articles and conference papers. She has also coordinated and integrated the provision of services for public organisations and companies with socio-economic evaluation studies and marketing plans for developing tourist destinations. She is also a reviewer for several international and national journals. Jaime Echávarri is an academic and policy consultant with more than 15 years of international experience. He has held research positions at the University of Manchester, the University of Sheffield, the Autonomous University of Barcelona, the University of Modena in Regio Emilia and the Tecnologico de Monterrey. As a multidisciplinary researcher, Dr. Echávarri has collaborated in ESRC and ERC funded research projects where his research has contributed towards improving our understanding about the effects of the digital transformation in development policy, across different fields of knowledge. As a consultant he has collaborated with the UNEDO, the ILO, and the Calabria Region in Italy. His research interests are the intersections between Development Studies and technology. Jaime obtained his PhD in in Development Policy and Management at the University of Manchester and prior to that he was part of the Tec de Monterrey faculty at the Government School (EGAP) where he also served as MPA/MPP program director.
