Michael Parkin began teaching immediately after graduating with a B.A. from the University of Leicester, England. He has taught economics all his professional life, and is currently professor of economics at the University of Western Ontario in Canada. He is past president of the Canadian Economics Association, and has served on the editorial boards of the American Economic Review and the Journal of Monetary Economics. Parkin has conducted extensive research, both on his own and with his wife, Robin Bade, which has resulted in more than 160 publications in journals and edited volumes, including the American Economic Review, the Journal of Political Economy, and the Review of Economic Studies, among others He is the author of the best selling textbook, Economics, now in its sixth edition.
