Konrad Marshall takes us on an extraordinary journey, not just through his own year of constant running, but alongside some of Australia’s most fascinating runners to find out why we run.
Acclaimed sports writer and author, Konrad Marshall chooses to make a commitment to shed his sedentary self (including some portion of his 117 kg frame) by running. And running. And running. Committing to run every single day for a year.
In each chapter the author interrogates qualified experts, drilling down into a host of running issues, like the boom in run clubs, technological advancements in running, the benefits of specific kinds of running (sprinting, trail-running, marathons and ultramarathons), running as a part of team sport, running addiction, running for mindfulness, running for focus, running for creativity. It entertains and informs as one man puts one foot in front of the other each day and explores what this can do for you, and shares the collective wisdom of the people who know, in a deeply reported yet first-person account of a year in constant motion.
