Shibsankar Jena is an assistant professor at the Department of Sociology and Social Work of Dr Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya, India. His areas of interest are the sociology of development, sociological theories and the Indian knowledge system. He has contributed his research to several national and international journals and is the co-author of Cultivating Cardamom: Culture, Economy and Social Structure in Sikkim.
