A textbook for vets, demystifying the body systems and requirements of exotic pets.
A textbook for vets demystifying the body systems and requirements of exotic pets. Exotics Made Easy guides practitioners through history taking, the clinical exam and identifying common conditions, and discusses the human–animal bond, the cascade system and informed consent.

Rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, hamsters, Mongolian gerbils, chinchilla, degu, African pygmy hedgehogs and ferrets are each covered in a dedicated chapter providing species-specific anatomy, current husbandry advice, transport advice, sexing, diagnosis and treatment of common conditions, blood sampling (where, how much and results), hospitalisation requirements, intubation and common surgeries.

Dr Madonna J.E. Livingstone BVMS MRCVS has always been passionate about animals receiving high levels of care irregardless of species. She graduated from Glasgow Veterinary School in 2002 and is head vet at a private clinic, teaches exotic animal medicine and surgery at Glasgow Veterinary School, is widely published in peer-reviewed journals, is an exotics consultant for two groups of external laboratories, and lectures widely on exotics to veterinary professionals. Madonna believes empowering veterinary professionals to treat these wonderful species in house not only enriches their careers but also results in improved animal welfare for many beloved pets.
