Optical Biosensors: From Molecular Detection to Translational Applications reviews the latest advances in optical biosensors for biomedical applications, from molecular detection through to practical applications in diagnostics, monitoring, and therapeutics. This book addresses the need for advanced biosensing technologies that enhance sensitivity and specificity through the use of novel nanobiomaterials such as graphene quantum dots and plasmonic nanoparticles. A range of biomedical applications is covered, including neurological, cardiovascular, antimicrobial, and glucose monitoring. The integration of lab-on-a-chip devices and biosensors into microfluidic platforms is also discussed, highlighting the potential for targeted and real-time analysis. Optical Biosensors: From Molecular Detection to Translational Applications is of interest to researchers and academics in materials science, materials chemistry, biomedical engineering, and biochemistry.

Prof. Prabhat K. Singh is a distinguished Scientist (G) at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai, Inda, focusing on ultrafast spectroscopy, supramolecular chemistry, and bio- and chemo-sensing applications. A Gold Medalist from the University of Burdwan, he joined BARC in 2006, earning the prestigious Homi Bhabha Gold Medal. He completed his Ph.D. at the Homi Bhabha National Institute, receiving a Best Thesis Award, and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Pennsylvania. Prof. Singh’s contributions have earned him numerous honors, including Young Scientist Awards from the Department of Atomic Energy, NASI, and ISCA. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) and holds memberships in INYAS, NASI, IASc, and the Global Young Academy. Recognized among Stanford University’s top 2% scientists, he was recently awarded the TWAS Young Affiliate and honored with national medals for his impactful research achievements.
