Kamalpreet Sandhu, MEng. is an Assistant Professor in the Product and Industrial Design Department at Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab. His primary focus is on design and development of footwear products and injury prevention. He has worked on projects in Podiatric Medicine at the Defence Institute of Physiology and Allied Sciences, DRDO, Delhi i.e., Designed and developed new kind of orthosis for social needs. This work resulted in the publication “Effect of Shod Walking on Plantar Pressure with Varying Insole”. His areas of research are 3D printing, Ergonomics and Human Gait Analysis. He is also an Editor of Books, SPRINGER NATURE “Emerging Application of 3D printing during Covid19 pandemic, Sustainability for 3D Printing, Application of 3D printing in Biomedical Engineering and Food Printing: 3D printing in Food sector. He also acts as an Editorial Review board member for the “International Journal of Technology and Human Interaction (IJTHI) and the Advances in Science, Technology and Engineering Systems Journal (ASTESJ). He is working in collaboration with Prof. Karupppasamy Subburaj, Medical Engineering and Design (MED) laboratory, Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). Gurdeep Singh is a Research Scientist at IIT Guwahati's Department of Design (DoD) in Assam, India. He formerly served as an Assistant Professor (Mechanical Engineering) at Dayalbagh University in Agra, India, for more than six years as a permanent central government employee. His research interests include ergonomics and human factors, user-centered design, occupational safety and health, innovative product design, Industrial engineering, and comparative studies of religion. He has 10+ utility patents (international and Indian), 90+ design registrations, and several publications to his name. He is a globally renowned innovator who has received numerous international awards for his works, including the HFES (U.S.) Alexander C. Williams Jr. Design Award 2023, the International Ergonomics Association (IEA) Kingfar Award 2021, and the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (CIEHF, U.K.) 'The Innovation Award - 2022'. Azizur Rahman graduated cum laude with a degree in B.Sc. in 2003, M.Sc. in 2009, and was awarded his Ph.D. in 2017. With an extensive background in Ergonomics and Human Factors, he served as a Lecturer at Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, before his current role at RMIT University. He also has significant industry experience, having worked as a consultant in various sectors including construction, thermal power, pharmaceuticals, and health care across multiple countries. As a Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE) by the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society of Australia (HFESA), Dr. Rahman’s research focuses on reducing musculoskeletal disorder risks in workplaces, designing biomechanically feasible ergonomic tools, and applying virtual reality to enhance ergonomic design and users’ experiences. He has contributed to numerous scholarly publications and has been actively involved in academic leadership, including serving as the head of the Department at Khulna University of Engineering & Technology, Bangladesh. Dr. Rahman holds a PhD in ergonomics and human factors from Swinburne University of Technology, where he also completed a Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching. He is recognized for his contributions to ergonomics and human factors with multiple awards and grants, underscoring his commitment to enhancing safety and health standards globally. Prabir Sarkar is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar. He is the founder chairman of the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) cell of IIT Ropar. Before joining IIT Ropar, he worked as an Associate Researcher at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), U.S. Department of Commerce Gaithersburg, USA. He completed his PhD from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore in Design Creativity. He did his Master of Design also from IISc on Product Design and Engineering. He has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed journal and conference publications. He is an editorial board member of Journal of Engineering, Design and Technology, Emerald and is a reviewer of several journals and conferences. Dr. Sarkar secured jointly funding of more than 100 crores from various external funding agencies. He is currently a fellow of the Institute of Engineers, India.
