Roman A Perez is Director of the Bioengineering Technology Institute and Vicerector for Research, Innovation and Knowledge Transfer, at Universitat Internacional de Catalunya, Barcelona, Spain. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry (University of Barcelona, Spain) and a PhD in Materials Science (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Spain). His research interests include the design and fabrication of biomaterials that incorporate biological molecules and cells to regenerate tissue. He has published more than 100 research articles. Miguel Angel Mateos is an Assistant Professor at Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC), Barcelona, Spain. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry (University of Salamanca, Spain) and a PhD in Supramolecular Chemistry (Twente Universiteit, The Netherlands). He has over 20 years research experience. His research focuses on the use of supramolecular chemistry for the designing of bioinks for 3D bioprinting for several applications, such as skin and cartilage TE, as well as the development of 3D models for drug testing. Jenifer Olmos Buitrago is a Lecturer at Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC), Barcelona, Spain. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology (University of Barcelona, Spain) and a PhD in Tissue Regeneration Engineering (Dankook University, South Korea). Her specialty is in the production of biomaterials, particularly natural polymers like collagen or silk fibroin, as well as cell-material interactions to influence tissue regeneration. She is now interested in studies on the release of ions for osteogenesis and angiogenesis. Begoña Maria Bosch is a Lecturer at Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC), Barcelona, Spain. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from the University of Barcelona (Spain) and a PhD in Health Sciences from the International University of Catalonia (Spain). Her research is based on the development of biomaterials for cell or tissue regeneration, such as ocular and bone regeneration. During the last few years she has focused her research on the use of natural polymers for cosmetic applications.
