This book examines the interplay between plants and their microbiomes to leverage the potential of nanotechnology to advance sustainable farming practices. It provides information on integration of nanomaterials with microbiome science thus providing solutions for improving soil health, disease resistance and nutrient uptake, ultimately leading to more robust crop yields. The chapters cover a range of critical topics, including the application of nanotechnology in enhancing plant-microbe interactions, the development of eco-friendly farming techniques, and the role of microbiomes in sustainable agriculture. Through detailed case studies and insights from leading experts, the book emphasizes the importance of holistic approaches that consider the intricate interactions within plant-microbe systems. Readers will discover the transformative potential of nanotechnology in sustainable crop management, gaining a deeper understanding of strategies that enhance crop health while minimizing environmental impact.

This book is an ideal source of information for researchers, agronomists and policymakers working in the field of sustainable agriculture, plant biotechnology and plant microbiology.

Prof. Kamel A. Abd-Elsalam is currently working as a research professor at the Plant Pathology Research Institute, Agricultural Research Center, Giza, Egypt. Dr. Kamel earned his PhD in molecular plant pathology from Christian Albrechts University of Kiel, Germany and Suez Canal University, Egypt. In 2008, he was awarded a postdoctoral fellowship from the same institution. He has published 327+ scientific articles and 43+ books related to nanobiotechnology applications in agriculture and plant protection with global publishing houses. He was ranked in the top 2% of the most influential scientists in the world in nanobiotechnology for three consecutive years of 2021-2025 by Stanford University. In 2014, he was awarded the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils Prize for excellent scientific research in biotechnology (fungal genomics).
