Michael Rice received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech, Atlanta, GA, USA. He is currently a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Brigham Young University, Provo, UT, USA. He teaches and publishes in wireless communications, random processes, and statistical signal processing. He has over 35 years of experience in wireless communications engineering and is widely published in air-to-ground communication links.He is the author of the textbook Digital Communications, A Discrete-Time Approach currently in its second edition. He has also authored chapters in three other books on various aspects of digital communications and space-time coding for offset QPSK. He is the former Editor-in-Chief of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems and member of the Board of Governors for IEEE's Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society. He is a Fellow of the IEEE.
