This book presents key technologies and applications of smart cities, covering a wide range of areas including smart transportation, autonomous driving, wireless communication, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), cybersecurity, digital twins, disaster management, environmental monitoring, and smart buildings. The authors include the latest developments and future trends in the evolution of smart cities. Each chapter represents a distinct field of study but is interconnected, collectively forming the technological framework of smart cities. The authors cover topics from how the IoT underpins smart transportation systems and autonomous driving technology, to the role of wireless communication in urban signal stations; from the applications of the fusion of AI and the Internet of Things (AIoT) in smart cities, to strategies for addressing cybersecurity threats. The book analyzes how all of these technologies drive cities towards greater efficiency, safety, and environmental sustainability. This book is suitable for professionals in smart cities, urban planning, information technology, environmental protection, and other related fields.
