This book highlights the important role of Langevin analysis in modeling complex structured fluids- mainly dilute polymer solutions and suspensions, where exact and rigorous results can be obtained, although some efforts are made in the concentrated regimes. It brings together basic but essential tools needed to understand and model complex structured fluids.

Dr. Dingyi Pan is a Professor of Fluid Mechanics at Department of Engineering Mechanics, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China. He obtained his Ph.D. in fluid mechanics from Zhejiang University. He was postdoctoral research fellow in Department of Mechanical Engineering, National University of Singapore. His research interests focus on modeling of complex fluids with mesoscale simulation tools. Dr. Zhaosheng Yu is a Professor in the Department of Mechanics, Zhejiang University, China. He is currently an Associate Editor of International Journal of Multiphase Flow, an executive council member of Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (CSTAM), and head of the multiphase flow professional group in CSTAM. He was the Head of the Fluid Engineering Institute at Zhejiang University [2016-2024]. His research interests include the mechanisms and modeling of multiphase flows.  Dr. Nhan Phan-Thien is an Emeritus Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the National University of Singapore, Singapore. He has been an Associate Editor of Physics of Fluids since 2016, currently one of its Deputy Editors since 2023. He held a Personal Chair at University of Sydney [1991-02], Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department National University of Singapore (NUS) [2016–19], Founding Head of Bio-Engineering Division (Biomedical Engineering) at NUS, a Qiushi Chair Professor at Zhejiang University (2018-21), and was elected to a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science in 1999. His research interest is mainly in rheology.
