In addition, the book offers detailed chapters on biofuels, bioenergy basics, hydrogen production methods, and the complexities of hydrogen storage and distribution. It investigates strategies for merging hydrogen and bioenergy systems within existing energy grids, the development of e-fuels, and the multifaceted policy, social, and economic challenges surrounding their adoption. Readers will also find a variety of international case studies demonstrating successful implementation, as well as an analysis of future trends and emerging technologies.
Petronilla Fragiacomo is a full professor and scientist responsible for the “fuel cell and hydrogen – FCH2" laboratory, at the Department of Mechanical, Energy and Management Engineering, at the University of Calabria. Her research focuses on renewable & fossil sources. In the last 15 years, her research activities have been directed towards innovative energy systems with high environmental compatibility and high efficiency. Dr Matteo Genovese is a Post doctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Mechanical, Energy and Management Engineering at the University of Calabria, with a PhD in Civil & Industrial Engineering. Olando Corigliano is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the DIMEG Department of University of Calabria (Rende – Cosenza), specialising in Energy Systems and Power Generations. His research focuses on fuel cell technology, including SOFC and PEM systems, hydrogen and e-fuels generation and poly generation. Francesco Piraino is a Post doctoral Fellow and Assistant lecturer of the Power systems course at the Department of Mechanical, Energy and Management Engineering of the University of Calabria.
