Soo K. Chan is the founding principal and design director of SCDA, a design studio seamlessly integrating architecture, interior design, landscape architecture and product design to create holistic spatial experiences. SCDA has offices in Singapore, Shanghai, Manila and New York. The firm has projects in over 70 locations across Asia, Africa, Europe, Oceania and North America. Chan was the inaugural recipient of the President’s Design Award, and the recipient of three American Institute of Architects (AIA) International and AIA New York Awards, and three Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) International prizes, and nine Chicago Athenaeum awards among others. The works of SCDA has been published extensively and was presented at the Venice Biennale. He has been featured at the Salone Del Mobile for product design for established Italian brands – Poliform and Cristina. Chan obtained his Master of Architecture degree at Yale University. He is a professor in practice and has taught in several international architecture schools including Syracuse University and National University of Singapore.
