This work presents the development of the DITC for the operation with constant switching frequency using the Pulse-Width-Modulation technique, so that the signal sampling can be synchronized with the switching frequency. The new DITC concept with PWM can operate with a lower control bandwidth using a predictive signal processing. As a result, it can be realized by a sequential signal processing platform. This leads to a higher flexibility in programming control functions in comparison to the implementation with FPGAs. As a result, the cost of hardware and development can be reduced. Furthermore, more functions can be implemented to improve the drive performance, e.g. system diagnose, sensorless operation and online-optimization.

The experimental results demonstrate the functionality of the PWM-DITC in both motoring and generating modes. The dynamic tests show that the PWM-DITC has an equivalent dynamic performance in comparison to the original DITC.
