Advances in Biomaterials Research
Springer International Publishing (Verlag)
978-3-031-97480-9 (ISBN)
This book offers comprehensive reviews on a wide range of biomaterials, detailing their synthetic and processing methods, properties, and applications. This book is ideal for undergraduate and graduate students in biomaterials and bioengineering, as well as a valuable reference for academics and professionals in the medical field. It covers the fundamentals and recent advances in biomaterials research, including applications in tissue engineering, orthopedics, CNS applications, regenerative medicine, and gene delivery. Key topics include the latest trends in 3D and 4D printing, multifunctional biomaterials, bioactive glass for bone healing, antibacterial activity of VI-element-based glasses, and advances in microbial biosensors for heavy metal detection
Shadia Jamil Ikhmayies had received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the physics department in the University of Jordan in 1983, and 1987, respectively, and the Ph.D. in production and characterization of CdS/CdTe thin film photovoltaic solar cells of potential industrial use from the same department and the same university in 2002. She worked as a member of the academic staff in several universities in Jordan. Her research is focused on producing and characterizing semiconductor thin films, and thin film CdS/CdTe solar cells. Besides, she works in characterizing different materials by computational methods.
