Dr Robert L. Schneider is an Emeritus Professor at the University of Iowa, Hospitals and Clinics, Institute of Hospital Dentistry and was Division Director of Maxillofacial Prosthodontics. He received his DDS from the University of Southern California before earning his MS and Certificate in prosthodontics from the University of Iowa in 1983. He has published over 100 articles and chapters, and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, Life Fellow in the American College of Prosthodontists, and Past President of the American Prosthodontic Society. He also served as the Executive Director of the American Prosthodontic Society for several years and as the Director of the Midwest Prosthetic Study Club for 15 years, and has over 45 years' experience as a certified dental technician. He is also a Life Fellow in the International Team for Implantology, the Academy of Osseointegration, and the American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthodontics.
