Alexey Matveev, PhD, is a researcher in electromechanics. He has authored more than 50 articles and patents in electric machines and drives. Currently, he serves as a part-time Professor at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Over his 25-year career, he has worked in the industry for major companies such as ABB and Rolls-Royce, as well as for lesser-known firms and startups, including SmartMotor and Alva Industries. Dr. Matveev graduated from the Electromechanics Department at the Moscow Power Engineering Institute in 1998 and defended his Ph.D. thesis at Eindhoven University of Technology in 2006. He is passionate about online education and is the creator of the open course DriveConstructor.
