Energy Storage and Hydrogen Integration for Sustainable Solutions provides a clear and cohesive understanding of the technologies, challenges, and opportunities in this field, with the aim to help pave the way towards a low-carbon, sustainable energy future. This book begins by introducing renewable energy integration, and the fundamentals of energy storage technologies and hydrogen production and utilization. Subsequent chapters then guide the reader through energy storage and grid integration, hydrogen as an energy carrier in the grid, hybrid energy systems, energy storage and hydrogen in transportation, and decarbonizing industries with hydrogen integration. The policy and regulatory framework, and economic and environmental impact are covered in detail, before a chapter that brings together various real-word case studies, analyzing the strategies, challenges, and outcomes of those projects. Finally, future trends and challenges in energy storage and hydrogen integration are explored. This is a valuable resource for all those looking to gain fundamental, practical knowledge of the integration of energy storage and hydrogen technologies, including researchers, students, engineers, scientists, industry professionals, consultants, and policy makers.

Mousa Marzband, PhD, is a Principal Electrical Power System Engineer at GHD, where he is responsible for crafting proposals for industry and providing professional consultancy on the integration of renewable energy resources, energy storage, smart transportation systems, among other areas. Prior to this role, he served as an Associate Professor (Reader) at the Net Zero Industry Innovation Centre, Teesside University, United Kingdom. Dr. Marzband has extensive experience in energy storage and electric vehicles, and has led several major funded projects in power electronics, energy storage, and smart grid technologies. Atif Iqbal, is a Professor in Electrical Engineering, Qatar University. He publishes widely in power electronics, variable speed drives and renewable energy sources. Dr. Iqbal has co-authored more than 400 research papers and two books. His principal area of research interest is smart grids, complex energy transitions, active distribution networks, electric vehicles drivetrains, sustainable development and energy security, and distributed energy generation.
