Mechanical Properties of Layered Rock Mass
Springer Nature Switzerland AG (Verlag)
978-981-96-5141-2 (ISBN)
This book focuses on revealing the anisotropic mechanical behaviors of layered rock masses subjected to various dynamic loads, by means of theoretical analyses, physical experiments and numerical simulations. It aims at elucidating the effects of structural planes on the mechanical properties, fracture characteristics and failure modes of rock masses. Notably, the book introduces a novel strength criterion specifically designed to represent shale strength under dynamic impact conditions. Serving as a valuable resource, this work is intended to benefit researchers and professionals involved in shale gas extraction, blasting engineering, and mining engineering. Additionally, it is well-suited as a textbook for graduate students in above disciplines and other related subjects.
Dr. Feng is mainly engaging in the theoretical and numerical research on dynamic hazards of rock mass in deep mines. Her research has been published in the International Journal of Rock Mechanics and Mining Sciences, Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering, Engineering Fracture Mechanics, etc. Dr. Gong is the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow with special interests in the computational geomechanics, rock fracture mechanics, and risk assessment, mitigation & prevention of geohazards. His research is funded by UK Research and Innovation, the Royal Society, etc.
