Presenting real-life applications, case studies, and mathematical models, this book is of interest to researchers, academics, and practitioners in the field of production and operation engineering. It provides both the results of recent research and practical solutions to real-world problems.

Professor Dr. Numan M. Durakbasa graduated from TU Wien-Cum-laude doctors degree in Production engineering and Metrology. From 2006 - 2020 Head of the Department for "Interchangeable Manufacturing and Industrial Metrology" and "Precision Metrology and Nanotechnology Laboratory" of the Institute of Production Engineering and Photonic Technologies at TU Wien. He serves as an invited lecturer and guest professor at several European universities.

He is an expert of the Austrian Standard Committee "Geometrical Product Specifications and Verification," Austrian representative and expert in the International Measurement Confederation IMEKO, and a founder member of Austrian "Forum Quality Sciences-FQW." He was founder and later head of the Personnel Certification Body (accredited according to ISO 17024) at the TU Wien.

He has published more than 550 scientific papers and 20 books and held 300 lectures in various European countries as well as in Argentina, Azerbaijan, Brazil, China, Cuba, Egypt, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Korea, Russia, VAR, Thailand, Turkey, and USA.

Kemal Güven Gülen is the head of the Department of Industrial Engineering at Namik Kemal University, Tekirdag. He served as the Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering at Istanbul Commerce University (2001-2003) and the Head of the Department of Logistics (2003-2014), and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Nisantasi University (2014-2016). After completing his undergraduate studies in Mechanical Engineering at Istanbul Technical University, he completed his postgraduate studies at the Institute of Business Economics at Istanbul University (1985-1987). He completed his master's degree (1987-1989) and doctorate degree (1989-1994) at the Department of Production Management at Istanbul University. He actively participates in the organization of ongoing scientific studies in the fields of Production Research (since 1997) and Management Research (since 2021), and has two published books and numerous research publications.
