The authors have delved deeper into the placemaking process conducting research in placemaking by drawing on the strengths and limitations of applying such methods in different places or combining different participants, using a variety of methods, techniques, and approaches that shape these engagements.
Starting from theoretical concepts and experiences, the volume is interested in a variety of methods, techniques, approaches and conceptualisations that shape these engagements as well as different methodologies. Engage the community of residents, of different interests, of virtual communities, and community of places at different scales, understanding how these forms of engagements were achieved by using particular methods. Also, the combination of different groups engaged in the placemaking like professionals, citizens, stakeholders, NGO, students and combination of virtual and physical communities is in the very aim of the chapters.

Francesco Rotondo is Professor of Urban and Landscape Planning at Polytechnic University of Marche in Italy. He has worked in several research projects and he has published over 180 works referring to the topic of urban regeneration, collaborative and landscape planning. Djukic Aleksandra is Full Professor at University of Belgrade, Faculty of Architecture. She has been involved in a dozen international and national research projects and has published more than 200 papers in international journals, monographs referring to the topic of urban design, planning, and regeneration. Preben Hansen is Docent and Associate Professor at Stockholm University. His research focuses on HCI and how people interact with its environments through different technologies. He has published over 180 papers in international venues and worked in several large EU-projects and projects in Japan, USA and China. Edmond Manahasa is Associate Professor at the Department of Architecture at Epoka University, Albania. His research is focused on the themes of built environment psychology, urban identity, post-socialist urban developments, and housing typologies. He has conducted studies on the historical architecture in Albania and Kosovo. Mastoureh Fathi is Lecturer in Sociology at University College Cork, Ireland. She has published extensively in the areas of home and migration, gender, identity and belonging. She has led several projects funded by the EU, British Academy and Irish Research Council in the UK, Turkey, Germany and Ireland. Juan A. García-Esparza is Associate Professor of Conservation and Maintenance at Universitat Jaume I. His current research focuses on historic towns and villages. He holds a Chair on Historical Centres and Cultural Routes (2015-2025) and is an expert and elected member of the Executive of the ICOMOS International Scientific Committee for Historic Towns and Villages CIVVIH (2021-2024).
