Carbon Quantum Dots in Biomedical Applications discusses carbon quantum dots (CQDs) and their beneficial properties for applications in biomedicine, sensing, and imaging. CDQs have enhanced solubility, low toxicity, environmental friendliness, easy manufacturing, and desired optical properties, which offer an advantageous alternative to more traditional materials. This book provides an interdisciplinary reference that details the various synthetic routes of CDQs, outlining their physical, chemical, and optical properties, and discussing their potential biomedical applications. This book is of interest to researchers and postgraduate students working in a wide range of fields, including materials science, nanotechnology, pharmaceutical science, medicinal chemistry, and more.

Jayeeta Chattopadhyay is a Professor and Deputy Director (R&D) at Amity University Jharkhand, Ranchi, India. Rohit Srivastava is a Senior Assistant Professor at the Department of Petroleum Engineering, Pandit Deendayal Energy University, Gandhinagar, India. His research focuses on green hydrogen and carbon dioxide reduction into green fuels. Bishnu Bastakoti is an Associate Professor at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, USA. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles. He is working on a broad design challenge to control various structural properties, such as porosity, crystallinity, and pore size, in porous inorganic nanomaterials. He is especially interested in using highly porous nanostructured materials in catalysis and energy conversion. Tara Sankar Pathak is the Former Head of the Department of Basic Science and Humanities, Surendra Institute of Engineering & Management, Siliguri, West Bengal, India. Nimmy Srivastava is an Assistant Professor (Grade–III) and Program Leader, Amity Institute of Biotechnology, Amity University Jharkhand, Ranchi, Jharkhand.
