This book covers machining simulations using advanced nonlinear finite element analysis (FEA) methodologies coupled with CAD-based techniques. The content increases awareness about the possibilities to reduce the actual experimental work via experimentally validated simulations using nonlinear finite element analysis.

Prof. Panagiotis Kyratsis works at the University of Western Macedonia, Greece. He is the Director of the Computational Design and Digital Fabrication Research Lab and Director of the  Research Institute of Traditional Architecture and Cultural Heritage, Greece. His main research interest includes CAD/CAM/CAE systems, machining simulations and FEA, manufacturing and machining, product design, reverse engineering and prototyping.  Dr. Anastasios Tzotzis is a researcher at the Department of Product and Systems Design Engineering, University of Western Macedonia, Greece. Is interested in CAD-based programming for design and manufacturing, FEM in machining, modern manufacturing technologies and Industry 4.0.  Prof. J. Paulo Davim is a Professor at the University of Aveiro, Portugal. He has more than 35 years of teaching and research experience in Manufacturing, Materials, Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, with special emphasis in Machining & Tribology.

Introduction in machining simulation methodologies.- State of the art in FEM-based machining simulations.- FEA simulations in turning.- FEA simulations in drilling.- FEA simulations in milling.
