Professor Sabu Thomas is currently the Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University. He is also a full time professor of Polymer Science and Engineering at the School of Chemical Sciences of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala, India and the Founder Director and Professor of the International and Interuniversity Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. Prof. Thomas is an outstanding leader with sustained international acclaims for his work in Nanoscience, Polymer Science and Engineering, Polymer Nanocomposites, Elastomers, Polymer Blends, Interpenetrating Polymer Networks, Polymer Membranes, Green Composites and Nanocomposites, Nanomedicine and Green Nanotechnology. Dr. Thomas’s groundbreaking inventions in polymer nanocomposites, polymer blends, green bio nano technological and nano-biomedical sciences, have made transformative differences in the development of new materials for automotive, space, housing and biomedical fields. In collaboration with Apollo Tyres, Professor Thomas’s group invented new high performance barrier rubber nano composite membranes for inner tubes and inner liners for tyres. Professor Thomas has received several international awards including: Fellowship of the Royal Society of Chemistry, London FRSC, Distinguished Professorship from Jozef Stefan Institute, Slovenia, MRSI medal, Nano Tech Medal, CRSI medal, Distinguished Faculty Award, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Award for Scientific Excellence – 2016,Mahatma Gandhi University- Award for Outstanding Contribution –Nov. 2016, Lifetime Achievement Award of the Malaysian Polymer Group, Indian Nano Biologists award 2017. He is in the list of most productive researchers in India and holds a position of No.5. Because of the outstanding contributions to the field of Nanoscience and Polymer Science and Engineering, Prof. Thomas has been conferred HonorisCausa (D.Sc) Doctorate by the University of South Brittany, Lorient, France and University of Lorraine, Nancy, France. Recently he received the National Education Leadership Award – 2017 for Excellence in Education. Professor Thomas has published over 1400 peer reviewed research papers, reviews and book chapters. He has co-edited 137 books published by Royal Society, Wiley, Wood head, Elsevier, CRC Press, Springer, and Nova etc. He is the inventor of 15 patents. The H index of Prof. Thomas is 127 and has more than 70,000 citations. Prof. Thomas has delivered over 350 Plenary/Inaugural and Invited lectures in national/international meetings over 30 countries.

Prof. Baiju R M (Orcid ID: 0000-0002-9682-3209). Dr Baiju is currently working as Professor of Periodontics, Government Dental College. He is also the post graduate Guide since 2011. He passed BDS with first rank from the Tamilnadu Dr MGR Medical University and MDS in Periodontics from University of Kerala. He received Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Research (PGDCR) from Annamalai University and PhD in Dentistry (University of Kerala). He was awarded an international Fellowship in Dentistry by the prestigious Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (FDS RCPS Glasg) in March 2021. Since 2020 he is an approved PhD Guide of the Kerala University of Health Scineces (KUHS). He is a hugely popular teacher with more than 21 years of teaching experience. He has supervised more than 14 post graduate dissertations. He has contributed two chapters to text books in periodontology. Prof. Baiju has delivered over 150 Key note and Invited lectures in national/international meetingsHe is an Associate member of the British Society of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry (BSP) since 2019. He is the Editor in Chief of Journal of Clinical Dentistry and former editorial board member of Health Sciences, official e journal of KUHS. Prof Baiju was a member of Board of studies (UG) of University of Kerala. He recieved several awards and recogntitions - Excellence in Dentistry award for for contribution to the field of peridontics and Interdisciplinary dentistry by International Association of Interdesciplinary Dentistry (AIOI).. - SPIK President’s appreciation award for in 2011-2012, 2012-2013 and in 2017-2019 - Best Clinical paper award at 32nd Kerala Dental Conference, Kannur 1999 (Co author) - Runner up- Young Scientist award (Kerala Science Congress 2000). Dr Baiju is an invited reviewer of several peer reviewed International scientific journals including Clinical Case Reports (Wiley- Blackwell ), International Journal of Dental Hygiene, Journal of Indian Society of Periodontology Journal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research BMJ Case reports, Hindawi Journals, Paediatric Health, Medicine and Therapuetics, Dovepress Interdesciplinary Journal of Healthcare, Clinical, Cosmetic and Investigational Dentistry and Clinical Epidemiology He has more than 30 international peer reviewed publications with over 180 citations.
