In 1982, Adel Sedra and K.C. Smith revolutionized the way electronic circuits was taught with 'Microelectronic Circuits'. In 1997, the fourth edition continues the tradition of excellence established by the previous three editions and incorporate extensive revisions.

This text considers the physical operation of devices, the basics of semiconductors and PN Junction, bipolar junction transistor operation and MOSFET operation. The result is a gradual introduction to these ideas within the context of their importance where they are needed. First published in 1982, this text offered a different way to teach electrical engineers about electronic circuits. This fourth edition has been extensively revised and includes information on devices and circuits, analogue circuits and digital circuits.
