Dr. Kerlin has more than 55 years of experience in teaching and research related to nuclear reactor dynamics, control, and testing. He has published extensively and is the author, co-author or contributor for five books on energy, reactor dynamics, and instrumentation. He has worked in both academia and industry. Dr. Kerlin has now retired as the Head of the Department of Nuclear Engineering at the University of Tennessee. Dr. Upadhyaya has more than 40 years of experience in teaching and research related to nuclear reactor dynamics, control, instrumentation, monitoring, diagnostics and advanced reactors. He has published more than 350 articles in refereed journals and conference proceedings, and book chapters. He is a Life Fellow of International Society of Automation, a Fellow of American Nuclear Society, a Fellow of International Society of Engineering Asset Management, and a Life Senior Member of Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers. Dr. Upadhyaya has now retired as a Professor of Nuclear Engineering at the University of Tennessee.
