This book focuses on the phenomenon of sediment erosion and resuspension in the Yellow River delta, China, which is a vital issue involved in understanding the sediment transport processes in estuarine and coastal environments, and how these contribute to the nature and distribution of geohazards in the subaqueous Yellow River delta and Bohai Sea. The most important sections of this book will be the detailed physical mechanisms and theoretical models of sediment erosion and resuspension problem fully considering the wave-induced seabed dynamic response to waves, which are particularly useful for postgraduate students and junior researchers entering the discipline of estuary and coastal sedimentation, marine geotechnical engineering, estuary and coastal engineering, harbor and waterway engineering and coastal environmental protection. This book can also serve as a textbook for advanced graduate students of Marine Engineering Geology and Estuarine Sediment Dynamics.

Dr. Yonggang Jia is a professor and a doctoral supervisor in College of Environmental Science and Engineering, Ocean University of China, the director of Shandong Provincial Key Laboratory of Marine Environment and Geological Engineering, the president of Marine Engineering Geology Commitee under the International Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment (IAEG-C34). His research interests have centered on seabed sediment dynamic response to waves, marine geo-hazards observation and prediction, and engineering characteristics of marine sediments. Dr. Jia has published 4 monographs and more than 300 journal articles, 60 out of which are SCI / EI Indexed. He has obtained 17 patents for invention.

Dr. Xiaolei Liu is an associate professor in College of Environmental Science and Engineering, Ocean University of China, and the secretary-general of Marine Engineering Geology Commitee under the International Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment (IAEG-C34). Dr. Liu is currently involved in research on wave-seabed interactions, seabed stability and sediment transport, and how these contribute to the nature and distribution of geohazards in the subaqueous Yellow River delta. He got his bachelor (2008) and Ph.D degree (2014) in Ocean University of China. He has published more than 60 journal articles, of which 24 articles are SCI Indexed and 5 articles are EI Indexed. He has obtained 10 patents for invention.

Dr. Shaotong Zhang is a postdoctoral research fellow now working in College of Marine Geosciences, Ocean University of China. He is a member of Marine Engineering Geology Committee (C34) under the International Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment (IAEG) and American Geophysical Union. He engages in research of marine sediment dynamics and wave-seabed interactions. He got his Ph.D degree (2018) in Ocean University of China majoring in Environmental Geological Engineering. He has published more than 20 journal articles, of which 6 articles are SCI Indexed. He has obtained 6 patents for invention.

Dr. Hongxian Shan is a professor in College of Environmental Science and Engineering, Ocean University of China. She got her bachelor (1986) and master degree (1991) in Changchun Geological College, and got the Ph.D degree in Marine Geology at the Ocean University of Qingdao in 2003. Her research interests are mechanicals of marine sediments and seabed erosion. She has published more than 150 journal articles, 40 out of which are SCI / EI Indexed.

Dr. Jiewen Zheng is working in Pilot National Laboratory for Marine Science and Technology (Qingdao). She engages in research of marine sediment dynamics, geological hazards and sediment acoustics. She got her bachelor (2008) and Ph.D degree (2013) in Ocean University of China. She has published more than 40 journal articles, of which more than 20 articles are SCI/EI Indexed, and obtained 1 patent for invention and collaboratively written 1 book.
