This book presents the state-of-the-art in the field of organic semiconductors for sustainable energy conversion into electricity, including optoelectronics and thermoelectrics. It firstly discusses important classes of solution-processable organic semiconductors, followed by the fundamental background of photophysics and phononics in these materials. Then the book introduces the device applications of organic semiconductors in optoelectronics and thermoelectrics, and the integration of these two types of devices. This book is the first to connect the research areas of optoelectronics and thermoelectrics.

Ziqi Liang is Professor in the Department of Materials Science at Fudan University, China. He obtained his PhD from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University, USA. After some years of research at University of Cambridge, UK and National Research Energy Laboratory, USA, he joined Fudan University as a professor. His research interests include conjugated polymers, organic and perovsktie solar cells, as well as organic and hybrid thermoelectrics. Guillermo C. Bazan is Professor in the Department of Materials and Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of California, Santa Barbara, USA. He obtained his PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA. After working as a postdoctoral fellow at the California Institute of Technology, USA, he started his academic career at the University of Rochester, USA, and then became a professor of Chemistry at the University of California. His research work is centered on organic electronics. Guillermo Bazan's awards and recognitions include the 2006 ACS Cope Scholar Award, the 2005 Bessel Award and the 2003 National Science Foundation Special Creativity Award.
