This book presents a technical introduction to the software components of IoT, its architecture, development and protocols. From the launch of the ARPAnet in the 1960s to recent connected gadgets, it highlights the integration of IoT in smart cities, assisted living, connected vehicles, issues with UX and UI and different network topologies related to M2M and IoT solutions. Readers will find in-depth coverage on battery chemistry, actuators like simple buzzers to complex stepper motors, gyroscopes and electrical sensing in organic compounds and backend software. The book offers an insight into the components of modern electronics and computing, and caters to professionals interested in researching, developing and building IoT.
Boris Adryan is currently Head of IoT & Data Analytics for Zuhlke Engineering GmbH and the founder of thingslearnLtd. He received his Ph.D. in developmental genetics at Max-Planck-Institute for Biophysical Chemistry. Dominik Obermaier is the co-founder and CTO at de-square company. He received his B.S in computer science from the University of Applied Sciences Landshut. Paul Fremantle is the co-founder at WSO2. He received his MA in mathematics and philosophy and an MSc in computation from Oxford University. He is currently working on his Ph.D. in IoT at the University of Portsmouth.
