lt;P>In den 1970er Jahren jagten Coop Himmelb(l)au mit Hilfe des menschlichen Herzschlags Sprengsätze in die Luft. ln den Jahrzehnten danach folgten Bauten, die konsequent und kompromisslos den Status Qua der Disziplin sprengten - räumlich, technisch, konstruktiv.

Die gleiche Konsequenz und Kompromisslosigkeit vermittelte Wolf D. Prix, Mitbegründer von Coop Himmelb(l)au, als Professor und Leiter des "Studio Prix" an der Wiener Universität für angewandte Kunst seinen Studierenden. Er wollte keine Marionetten, die mit vorauseilendem Gehorsam im Architekturbetrieb mitschwimmen, er wollte "Kämpfer", die für ihre unorthodoxen Ideen

einstehen - und diese mit ebensolchem Einsatz auch zur Realisierung bringen. Dafür brauchte es die Umstrukturierung von Inhalten und Lehrplänen. „Architekten sind Strategen, die Konzepte für eine zukünftige Welt entwickeln müssen", so Prix. "Sag mir wie es geht und nich t, wie es nicht geht", war die Anweisung auch an seine Assistenten. Die zwei Jahrzehnte dieser "wild world " sind nun auf über 400 Seiten eindrücklich eingefangen in der Publikation "Studio Prix ".
