The analysis of radiation and scattering from thin wire structures using the integral equation approach is a very important topic in antenna theory and also in many areas of electromagnetic compatability (EMC). Written in the form of a research report, this book aims to explain the theoretical background of the wire antenna analysis in both the frequency and time domain, and covers many important topics regarding wire antennas and related EMC topics. It also introduces the reader to the Finite Element Integral Equation Method (FEIEM) developed by the author.
Preface Part I: Theory of thin wire antennas Historical background of thin wire modeling Frequency domain integral equations; Time domain integral equations Modelling in the frequency domain Frequency domain analysis The frequency domain mathematical model of horizontal wire antenna radiating in the half-space configuration; Frequency domain formulation for loaded antenna above dissipative half-space; Numerical solution procedures for unloaded wire; Numerical procedures for the loaded wire; Modelling of a thin wire loop antenna; Modelling of arbitrary thin wire configuration; Numerical examples Time domain analysis The time domain mathematical model of horizontal wire above a real ground; Transient response of resistively loaded straight thin wire in half-space configuration; Transient response of nonlinearly loaded straight thin wire in half-space configuration; Transient analysis of two coupled horizontal wire antennas over a real ground; Time domain numerical examples Part II: Analysis of EMC problems using wire antenna models EMC computational models based on wire antenna theory Analysis of transmission lines of finite length Single wire transmission line; Two-wire transmission line Analysis of lightning rods and grounding electrodes Interaction of the human body with the electromagnetic radiation Wire models of the human body exposed to the low frequency electromagnetic radiation; Time domain model of the human body exposed to the EMP excitation Appendix: TAWS computer software References
