The French landscape architect, urban planner, and architect Alexandre Chemetoff (b. 1950) visits the sites of five of his major works of the last fifteen years. Accompanied by selected conversation partners, the principal themes of Chemetoff’s creative work come up for discussion.

Alexandre Chemetoff was born in Paris in 1950 and completed his studies at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Horticulture in Versailles. Since 1983, he has directed his own landscape architecture and urbanism firm in Paris-Gentilly. His large-scale urban renewal projects for entire urban neighborhoods have received international recognition. In 2000, Chemetoff received the Grand Prix de l’Urbanisme; in 2003, he was named an honorary member of the Royal Institute of British Architects.
