101 poems purposefully written by David L. Harrison, an expert in writing poetry children love
six application routines for use with all the poems that provide additional, critical practice in the patterns learned
opportunities to develop independence in word attack skills in reading and writing
chapters that focus on specific patterns found in typical phonic curricular scope and sequences: short vowels, long vowels, consonants, consonant blends, consonant digraphs, and rime families
two suggested activities specific to each poem that extend phonic applications and opportunities for connecting to content areas, reading comprehension, and interesting Tier 2 vocabulary
a robust companion website that includes downloadable resources and audio recordings for all 101 poems
