This useful book brings together popular teaching activities from African-centered/Black psychology in a single volume which instructors will return to again and again.

Showcasing a wide variety of teaching techniques, each lesson plan encourages active learning and involves the whole class. These are presented in an easy cookbook format which lists materials needed, instructions, discussion items, and suggestions for further reading on each topic. Activities cover the background to psychology and African-centered psychology, research methods, history of psychology, bio-psychology, education and learning psychology, developmental psychology, personality psychology, clinical psychology, health psychology, social psychology, and industrial-organizational psychology, all from an African-centered perspective. Written by an expert in the field, the book explains what African-centered/Black psychology is; how it differs from standard psychology; what it offers to African people, researchers, and teachers; how to get students interested; and how to achieve retention of the subject matter.

Offering an entertaining, effective, and easy-to-plan suite of activities which sheds light on a neglected field in standard psychology, this is an essential resource for teachers and lecturers teaching African-centered/Black psychology across the psychological discipline.

Mu-Tor K. Flood has a PhD in Industrial-Organizational psychology. He is currently an Assistant Professor at Bethune-Cookman University, USA. He is the school advisor for the Association of Black Psychologists at Bethune-Cookman University, and he teaches courses on African/Black psychology, research methods, statistics, and psychological measurements.
