An adventure roleplaying game inspired by the legends of Robin Hood.

You are hunter and prey, a friend of the people and an enemy of tyrants. Your realm is the deep forest, amidst the birch and ancient oak. Falsely accused, only your wits and your longbow can save you from the gallows. You are an outlaw, an outcast, a hooded man…

Prince John rules with an iron fist and Robin Hood is already a legendary figure, a champion of the common people, and a symbol of resistance against the tyranny of the nobility. Even Robin Hood cannot be everywhere, however, and many still fall foul of powerful landowners, grasping tax-collectors, and greedy barons. Charged with crimes and forced from their homes, the life of an outlaw seems to be the only option. Some, seeking vengeance or inspired by tales of Robin's bravery, refuse to submit and fight back against those who have driven them into the greenwood.

The Hooded Man is a roleplaying game of heroism and adventure that tells the stories of these rebels, be they members of Robin’s band, striking out against the Sheriff of Nottingham from their lair in Sherwood Forest, or an outlaw company of the players’ own creation. Characters are drawn from all walks of life, bringing their own talents, histories, and motives to the company, and the simple D6 dice-pool system keeps the focus on these heroes and their fight against tyranny and oppression.

When Graham Rose discovered roleplaying games, he was hooked. He designed his first home-brew RPG in the 1980s and has continued tinkering with games ever since. It was whilst roleplaying that Graham decided to acquire as many of the abilities listed on his character sheet as possible. This quest has led to a wide range of interests, including archaeology, history, fencing, and travel. He spends his days working and his nights dwelling in far-off lands, in his head at least.
