In the contemporary era, marked by a multitude of perspectives and a lack of straightforward means to ascertain the characteristics of an individual who may engage in terrorist activities, this book, which questions what drives an individual to terrorism, represents a comprehensive guide to cognitive warfare in the context of the fight against terrorism. Carefully structured to enhance the reasoning capacity of state and non-state actors in counterterrorism, the book suggests a new 'counterterrorism communication hub', elaborately designed to be utilized across all platforms of cognitive counterterrorism. The book puts forth an innovative approach that extends beyond traditional chain models and measures to succeed in modern warfare and prevent recruitment by, or involvement in, terrorist organisations. By mapping out how to engage with vulnerable groups in counterterrorism and analysing the process between terrorist organisations and vulnerable groups to change the way target populations think and act, the book offers a new strategic and tactical perspective for state and non-state actors.
