Motion picture technology can trace its origins back to photographer Eadweard Muybridge, whose early photos of a running racehorse were used to demonstrate the medium's potential. Autor

Roberta Smoodin is the author of four novels: Ursus Major, Presto!, Inventing Ivanov, and White Horse Cafe. Her journalism has appeared in Playgirl, Esquire, the New York Times Travel Magazine, and elsewhere. Before her work with horses, she taught English, creative writing, and literature at the university level.
